Medical Director

Dr. Raatz earned his DVM from Iowa State University in 1979 and has served as an associate, CEO, and medical director, as well as a USDA Veterinary Medical Officer specializing in livestock health, import/export, and animal welfare. His interests include soft tissue, cosmetic, and dental surgery, along with the variety of small animal medicine. He values open communication with pet owners. A father of five, he enjoys time with his three Chihuahuas - Diamond, Polo, and Gucci - plus country music, golfing, fishing, and outdoor activities with family.

Dr. Raatz earned his D.V.M. from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1979. Following veterinary school, Dr. Raatz held many small animal Associate, CEO and Medical Director positions. As a field Veterinary Medical Officer for USDA, APHIS, VS. he graduated from the Public Veterinary Practice Career Program, an extensive training position dealing with inspection and certifying the health of livestock, Import/Export of animals, and animal welfare.

His professional interests include soft tissue surgery, cosmetic, and dental surgery, but he also appreciates the fast-pace and diverse caseload that small animal medicine provides. Dr. Raatz believes that open communication between the veterinarian and patient guardian is essential for maintaining excellent patient health, care, and general well-being.

In his free time, Dr. Raatz is a proud parent of five children and three chihuahuas, Diamond, Polo, & Gucci. Dr. Raatz enjoys country music, golfing, fishing, and outdoor activities with his family.
